Smile Monthly PEN & INK Project -- August, 2012.

Monthly Pen & Ink Project -- August, 2012.

Hi Everyone,

The following are the Images for our Monthly P&I Project, and I hope lots of you will join in and have some fun with all of us during the month.

Rules For The Monthly P&I Project:-

1) Use one or more of the photos.

2) Credit the Photographer of the photo(s) in your first post. They are listed in the first post each month.

3) Drawings may be any size, as small or as large as you like.

4) You may choose to pen in all black, all monochrome, or coloured penwork. If you wish you may also use a wash of Watercolours or Coloured Pencils etc. Entirely your choice, as long as Pen and Ink is a major contribution.

5) Cropping, combining, adding, subtracting to the work is all allowed.

6) All drawings from these Images must be posted in this Thread -- do not start a new one.

7) Create a beautiful piece of artwork for us all to enjoy, and most of all, have fun.

Val.

Great selection of images, this is my first illustration, I intend to do a lot during this month

I did the dog using a brush and used a nib on the background

Val, lots of nice pictures.. should be a challenge on which one to pick first

Mario, you are off to a great start.. lovely strokes, very beautiful! What Nib do you use?
vbuben, You did wise by cropping the image, and focused on capturing the difficult elements. The thickness of the glass bowl, and both the transparency & translucency are admirably present. very nice!

gpathy, thanks for the comments, use a nib very simple, depending on the design also use a brush or pen

Re: Monthly PEN & INK Project -- August, 2012.

Val, Beautiful references.
Mario, both the dog and lighthouse paintings are great. Trees, water and all are beautifully rendered.
vbuben, Amazing! great work on glass and strawberries. Love the way you have cropped the image.
Gpathy , Like the background and how it has made the Maniken stand out. Very 3-Dimensional.
UltramarineC290, welcome to the pen and ink forum. Like the colors and the background wash. What have you used, ink or watercolours?

Re: Monthly PEN & INK Project -- August, 2012.

I was in our local art supply shop today and purchased a Pentel Hybrid Techica 05 pen. Trying this 'new to me' pen with these two on Strathmore 90# CP. They are both about 6x8" or15x20CM.

That is Wild Turkey by Dave Slaughter above
and below is Old Barn and Shed by Jyvonne

This pens nice and smooth to use. A bit of blop at the start of lines but that may be my technique or the newnes of the pen.
C&C welcome. Have fun, Dave
