Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Hi everyone.
Hi Donald. Ah, I see. Still a beautiful thing to see though.
Hi Ron. So happy you could meet up with Jo and her husband. Sounds like you had a great time! Yikes, your daughter is lucky to have gotten away! That skunk problem is becoming quite the saga for you.
Hi Robert. Wow, what a feat! It is excellent and it must feel so great to have it finished. Well done!
Hi Lola. All this talk about dogs and skunks makes me think Simon has been lucky. He howls and runs in the woods all night long, but no run in with skunks (yet).

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Robert, Congratulations. Such a big and beautiful project. It is amazing!!
Jenna, hey there!
Lola, hi. Hope the DH is better now and you know what's up.
dj, we thought of tomato juice for the skunk, too.
It was wonderful to meet Ron and his super family. (No skunk smell, by the way.) He is warm and generous and the family is just perfect. We had a great time and learned a bit about Wyoming and his area, too. His nice comments about Gene and I go double for him and his.
We are still in Wyoming but will be in Montana tomorrow night at another cousin's. She is 92 or 93 and still living on her own. Nifty!
Will post when we have internet. Can't post pics from my iPad but here we are got out my computer for you:

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Jo - looks like you're having a great time! I've been wanting to go see Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons for a long time. It wont happen this year. Maybe next. I need to buy a new camera. I want a DSLR, and I'm hoping to find one that my Konica lenses will fit on so I don't have to buy a bunch of new lenses. I don't mind manual focus lenses. The camera store said to bring a lens in, and see if it would fit. Since it has the same mount as a Minolta, they said it might fit on a Sony.
Next I have to sell my Bronica ETRS that I have $1500 in and are currently selling on Ebay for around $200.
Well, I have to make pancakes, then take our Japanese young lady to St. Louis to catch a plane.
Later!
Donald

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Hi everyone!
Jo - nice photo, sounds like you are having a really nice time.
Donald - you are so brave wanting a DSLR; I find them intimidating...too much for this simple woman.
I'm still waiting on hubby's test results. Waiting sucks. It's his birthday today and he is feeling a bit sorry for himself. I gave him a scratch board of his favorite cat, Peppermint (she is his lap kitty) and that really cheered him up.
I have started some sun tea in the backyard...mostly raspberry herbal tea. I'm impatient for it to be finished.
Today I plan on finishing up some ATCs for the Black & White trade I am in. Wish me luck! There is so much to distract me...like laundry and house cleaning.

Apparently, the tomato juice basically masks the smell.
Shunk spray is oily, and the mixture we used actually breaks down the oil and neutralizes the smell. We also had the ingrediants already on hand. google, "removing skunk smell from dog" and you'll find all kinds of stuff on this mixture
Jenna- Im beginning to feel like Elmer Fudd, trying to get the "rascally old skunk" LOL
Robert- wowser, thats crazy good! You need a celebration party after this one.
Hi to everyone. hope your weekend was a good one

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Hello everyone.
Hi Jo. What a wonderful photo of you and Ron! It looks like you had a great time all together. Is that a painting I spot in your hand? Have fun with your travels and I hope you have a good visit with your cousin.
Hi Donald. I hope you get that new camera. I need a new one too. Haven't started seriously looking, but I'd like a slightly more advanced one; I really enjoy playing with the features on the one I have. Happy camera shopping.
Hi Lola. It is no fun to be sick on your birthday. I hope your husband gets some answers with those tests so he can get to feeling better. How wonderful that you made him a scratchboard of his cat. Scratchboards are so much fun. I'd love to see it; did you post it anywhere?
Hi Ron. All you need is that iconic trumpet-shaped gun and you'll be all set!

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Howdy campers!!
Robert, Fugue is Awesome!!! I don't know if I would have had the patience for that large of a work. Nice job!
Donald - I love that painting! I love the light rays most of all. Beautifully done!
Jenna, to answer your question about what I'm drawing - I'm actually fighting with a colored pencil drawing of a kitten. If I can pull it off, it will be really cool.
I've been really, really busy lately, with not enough time for art. But hopefully this will eventually pass...I want to get back to the paints. That was way too much fun!
Howdy to the rest of the gang, and make it a great Monday.

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Hey campers, good news from Lola!
My hubby's tests all came back negative. His cough is most likely a reaction to some meds he had been on since June. As of last Thursday they switched his meds. He does feel a bit better. Time will tell.

Hello everyone.
Hi Lola. Wow, that scratchboard turned out so well! It's beautiful! Well done, no wonder your husband loves it. I hope your husband continues to feel better. It's good the tests came back negative; I just hope he feels back to normal soon.
Hi Kate. Ooh, a kitten. Kittens are near and dear to my heart. Keep at it. I'm sure you'll do a great job!
Well, it's bedtime. Goodnight, everyone.

Ron.. JO.. Glad you two got a chance to meet. Love the picture!
Robert.. Its grand.
Sorry this is so short.. I have been reading just not time to sit and post. My computer was trained to to type while I talked. When I wiped the hard drive I never thought to pull out the software's training data. Ah well just have to do it the old fashion way.. Typing.. It is still called typing right?
Hey to everyone.. Hope your all doing well and enjoying the last of the summer.. Kids going back to school this next week. Where does the time go?

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Morning everyone! We were blessed yesterday and this morning w a wonderful, gentle rain. Not the usual gully washer, but a steady sweet kiss of hugely needed moisture. I have flung open all the windows and am loving the cool breezes!
Robert - you deserve to celebrate! I'm wondering how you will mount and display this monster. Donald - great light - really nice painting! Lola, your Peppermint looks fantastic. Hope the hubby is mending; it seems to have been a bit of a siege for him. Jo! Thanks for posting the photo of you and that scoundrel, Ron. Sounds like you had a great time!
I really need to get something useful done here - cheers to the rest of you!

Re: ROUND THE CAMPFIRE August 2012
Fly-by saying howdy to the campfire!! I'm still here, just not able to post during the day because of work - and evening thunder and lightening (meaning power interruption issues) at home keep me off the 'puter after hours.
Have a super day all!
