Re: The Oily Rag....................Come and Chat, August 2012
I just bought a bag of Call of the Wild for my kitties yesterday, and it made me wonder how Nancy's Glory was doing?

Re: The Oily Rag....................Come and Chat, August 2012
Serial hugger? I've encountered this before, at National Mensa Gatherings. When you check in, you're given a choice of wearing a green, yellow, or red sticker. Green means hugs okay; Yellow for hugs only if I know you; and Red means no hugs at all. That guy is Kansas City has put himself in the yellow group in pretending to know you. After having suffered through the vertical sex imitation of some of these creeps, I now opt for the Red every time.
Now those Texas cowboys sound like a different breed altogether! I met one in Mensa; married him; and now he refuses to hug anyone but me!

Re: The Oily Rag....................Come and Chat, August 2012
I made several attempt to do my drawing on me 12x9 and each time drew the face larger than I wanted it for the composition...soo later I may try it on a different size canvas.

Re: The Oily Rag....................Come and Chat, August 2012
<gasp> $377.65!
Marcia, Glory still has the problem, but I think it's tapering off. I put towels down on the part of the carpet she had chosen, so that I could pick them up and clean them, but now she thinks she has to avoid the towels -- and has picked other areas of the carpet to soil!
It will have been ten days since I started her on Taste of the Wild, so tomorrow if I still find her doing this, I'll take her back to Dr. Parker so she can make more tests. I keep telling myself she'll get better if I just wait -- I don't want this precious kitty to have diabetes!
There's also, with four cats, the flea problem associated with a hot dry summer, so in spite of their fresh flea collars and having been saturated with flea powder, in spite of their being indoor cats, the constant fur-licking has me cleaning up fur balls like crazy.
I don't let my friends come to my house anymore...but I think they all know why!

Re: The Oily Rag....................Come and Chat, August 2012
Ugh! Sorry about the electric bill - are they going to fix it so it's recalculated on the averaging system?
I happened across something interesting the other day, about someone with a kitten they were trying to housebreak:
If it was shut in a room by itself, with food water and a litterbox, it would use the box, but when out in the house with the general population of 3 other cats, it would go potty in the washing machine!
The person giving advice suggested that the other cats were intimidating it, and it didn't feel comfortable using the same box as the others. It was suggested having 1 box for each cat, + one, and putting them in different areas of the room. Putting them together just makes them appear as all one box to cats.
I don't know how feasible this is, or if the situation is even remotely similar to Glory's, but if the vet can't find a physical reason, I guess this may be a possibility.
Sorry I can't remember where/when I saw the article.

Marcia, you are right, cat's don't really like sharing the box....cats really don't like sharing anything...but your idea is worth a try.

I think I may have stumbled onto how Picasso did it..
And, if we couldn't laugh at ourselves, what the hell would we do..

Re: The Oily Rag....................Come and Chat, August 2012
Marcia, that may be it! I will try the experiment! Need to go get an extra litterbox at PetsMart. Glory is the last to join the family. I know she hasn't made friends, just like Twinkle didn't after we got her back from the pound when they found her. We only have two who are friends with each other.
I found out that the averaging out is still in place, but I was two months in arrears! That happened because I thought we were also on the automatic payment program. Turns out we're not, and I need to turn in a form requesting automatic payment. It was easier to do with the rest of the utilities. My fault, as usual. Since it was, I've been running errands all day along with worrying about my mind - which has made my driving even worse! I keep forgetting even the normal places I turn!
If I end up diagnosed with Alzheimer's, I'm going to take my life before what makes me myself disappears.
Picasso was a con artist before he was any other kind.
