WDE July 27- boat and beach and gulls
I was at the lake this wknd, so took some refs with me. I couldn't find a pencil to do ay presketching so had to just wing it with the paint.
the first is 8x10, straight in with a flat brush, very much fun, the shape of the boat was a bit inhibiting, but kid of like the way it turned out
the next were each done on WC cards in gouache
I loved the beach scene

Bonnie ,
I'm having a difficult time picking which one I like best so I'm not going to try. Your boat and water are beautiful I love the colour scheme and the reflections.
The beach scene,the sky and boulders are terrific , ditto the gulls.
Thank you for painting your lovely watercolours this weekend.

I like 'em all, Bonnie...but that boat/water simply blows me away!! The ripples pull you right in to the great boat with water reflections on the side of it.

all are super, but you gave that boat one a certain zing that wasn't in the ref, bravo, really good effect on the water...

This boat scene is so restful Bonnie - can almost feel my hand resting o'er the side and into the water - oh wait having hallucinations - still no rain here! Luv them all Bonnie, esp "George" and his friends - hey maybe they're looking for rain also LOL!!!

This is one of your best watercolors yet. It's lively and vibrant with great color, shadows and reflections. You seem to thrive with the direct approach here. |

That boat is superb - strong painting and great reflections. The others are very great little gouaches - love that wet in wet sky.

Well ya done good wingin' it! these are great! especially love the reflection of the boat. aren't boats devious things to draw? they look easy until pencil meets paper...lol!
