A Quiet Corner

Title: A Quiet Co<br>er
Year Created:
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 12
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

I like this painting but it is nothing special. Any comments on how I can improve it would be most welcome. The painting is darker than it appears in the photo.

Any comments/critiques are most welcome.

Re: A Quiet Corner

I think the darkness of the shadows is inconsistent, particularly the middle umbrella shadow needs to be darker, also the tip of the far right umbrella could use a little more definition,

Charming picture!

Re: A Quiet Corner

You're right about the shadows. I couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks!

Once you define your shadows, take another look at your highlights on your subjects, make sure they all, including the flowers, correspond to the direction of the light. That being said - it is a cheerful and appealing painting.
