One of my favorites that started long ago are the Brothers Hildebrandt.

Boris Vallejo, Luis Royo neck to neck!!! And most recently, I discovered Rodney Matthews who designed a lot of album and novel covers in sci fi settings. Superb imagination.

Alan Lee. His works were the first ones that really made me love fantasy art. It's so soft and light. Very different from my own style, but it really speaks to me. Even before I had read any Tolkien.
