Re: Scavenger Hunt #277 Jul 24 - Aug 1

Ai; What a lovely collection of items in the library-sketches. Beautiful! Esp. the staircase and the skyline with the flowers in front. I hope the break worked out well for you.

Paul; Nice towel rack!
Eyepaint; Nice and colorful sketch of the steps and windows.

A few from me. Again done with my fine-liners in my A5 dummy. For every sketch i limit myself to 10/15 min. max to prevent myself from fiddling to much. I am beginning to like pen more and more!
1) Something blue; the handles of the clipper.
2) Something made of glass...
3) Towel rack. In my kitchen.
4) Sky-line. The apartment building at the end of my street.
5) A garden tool.
6) A small table.
7) Steps.

C&C welcome! Greetings, Hanneke.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #277 Jul 24 - Aug 1

EP - Good sketch in the cafeteria. I like your confident ink lines. Nice outdoor sketch too!

Paul - Looks like a comfy beach spot. Nice sketch of the empty towel rack.

Hanneke - Good for you! I've never tried the challenge of doing the items in order. Nice hatching on your work. Great clippers and unique towel racks. Great garden tool.

Ai - Nice detail to your earrings and good likeness of Beethoven. I like the low tables at your library but when I would want to get up I'd have a problem. I'm not so agile anymore. lol Great how you did the staircase with the bookshelves below. I may steal that idea. Excellent skyline. I like how you left the buildings white!

Bonnie - Good sketches at the eye doctor. I love sketching places where things are different. I get bored sketching the same things at home all the t ime. lol I like that row of chairs with the table. Good sink and tap. Interesting bird's eye view of the path!

Wow, you have been busy.

Paul, I like the towel rack. I forgot I had that on the list.

EP, nice watercolor work on the steps and windows. You are doing nice plein air work.

Hi there, AI.

Hanneke, great job o the tool. Blue, too. You have great hatching and lines.

Bonnie, you have a nice touch with the watercolors, too. Interesting items. I like the bridge in the park.

Joan, you always have beautiful watercolors. The little statue in pencil is very sweet, too.

I finally sketched a little in my travel sketchbook, which will be my regular one I guess. It is 9 x 7 or so. Used the Prismacolor 09 pen and the watercolor kit.

Number 1, blue - the little blue and red bowls bought at the Empty Bowl project for the Food Pantry. Number 2, made of glass - a little glass elephant, gift from Regina.

Oban: Thank you. Your lines are super. Great result in clipper, garden tool, table... actually all of them ;-)

Bonnie: Lovely and charming works. I LOVE your garden statues. Their lines reminding me of looking at the old master works. Nice sketches from the doctor office. Good thinking of the file pocket on the wall. Bravo. I am interested in your sketchbook, what brand is it and what kind of weight of the paper?, will it take wc well?. I love how you can spread them and draw two pages continuously.

Joan: Thank you. Your bridge and plein air of veggie farms are marvelous. The fruit looks juicy and the statue is so charming.

Jo: Hi. Lovely bowls. Nice elephant. I am glad you have some time to draw and share sketches with us.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #277 Jul 24 - Aug 1

I found this pic. from Cathy Johnson's FB last night. She uses watersoluble ink pen, and do some interesting wash with it. This might be useful for lots of us who use ink pen to sketch.

Joan, interesting bridge and I love your rows of garden plots, and of course I love your WCs too.
Jo, nice bowls, and the elephant came from a person named Regina, not from my home town?
EP
Ai: I will take a photo of the sketchbook I used this time, usually I use a 9x12 and it takes WC lightly, this one is a cloth covered 6x6 that I think I got from the local paper store, can't remember, anyway these sketches I used watersoluble crayon, but have used WC in it and it wasn't too bad, the paper is prob no more than 75lbs tho so you have to wash lightly. I love the demo by catherine, will have to find some watersol ink pens, great idea.
" J"- so glad to see you back. your blue tote is gorgeous, very cute figurine. love the blue ink sketches
Paul, great bridge structure, makes me want to do a closeup and more detailed drawing of a bridge

Hi EP, thanks to you, too.

Ai, Thanks so much. Also for sharing Cathy Johnson's idea. Cool.

Hi, "J". Love the blue tote! Funny bird. Clever, clever bridge!! Hope you are doing better. Hugs.

Paul, that is a great bridge. The cross bars and all can get so confusing. I wonder if the fake owls really work ....

Bonnie, ha, you are right. The elephant was from my friend, Regina, although we have been to your beautiful city a couple of times. Thanks.

Bonnie; Ty! Nice way to pass waiting-time....I love your sketches, esp. the birds-eye view and the statues.
Joan; Ty! The bridge looks great and more lovely WCs from you, love them. Nice statue.
Jo; Ty! I like the blue bowls very much and that elephant looks like a cuty to me...
Ep; Ty!
Ai; Thanks for the ref. to the site of Cathy Johnson and the picture of the pens. She is a very gifted artist, works miracles with pen. Haven't checked out everything yet, but love what I have seen so far.
Jeanne; Hope you are feeling better. I love your sketches, esp. the bird-statue.... The combination in the 3d sketch is great!
Paul; Ty! Great bridge!

A few more from me.
8) A row of something. Small silver swans, used to put name-tags in for guests when having an official dinner.

9) A rug. Live sketch. Off course.

10) Mini tool kit. Present in every Dutch house-hold; repair kit for flat bike-tires.

11) Statue/sculpture. The Storyteller. A statue in the park close to the shopping-center. There is an audio-thingy in this statue, so take a seat on a bench and listen to a story..

Greetings!
Hanneke.
