So you've added some strong colour in the first place, and now you scratched it back a bit. Time to put some of that back in, very diluted if you don't want it so bold.

Now that I look back at the original, I think the colour is really good but perhaps what was needed was more colour on the white parts like the breast and tail feathers to balance it out.

Well you guys have succeeded in making me realize that I'm not done ...
I'll go a bit more with the color.
The breast doesn't have that much color, just black and white, so I guess ill have to play a bit with some blues and a little brown.

I'm working on my first bird right now, and its not turning out nearly as well as yours! I love the fluffiness of him!

Allan, yes, get the Inktense. This one needs COLOR. I liked it with the bold color too, so I think the color votes have it. LOL.

I love the inktenses, altho I haven't tried them with the scratch yet. But they are much better than wc pencils that's for sure. Beautiful, strong color.
