Evalyn demo from CA - FINISHED
I thought I posted the start of this somewhere but couldn't find it, so I started a new thread for her. Evalyn is a little girl from the Masai tribe, the same tribe as the grannie wip I started in CA, too. I haven't finished that one yet, but I want to finish this one first...I'm on a roll with her. 
Since CA, I am using a tattoo needle for the first layer of scratches, then continuing with a scalpel. I'm experimenting with different size needles...they seem to last fairly well. Thanks Diana! And to Rod who gave me some advice about the sizes.

Wowee Yowee. This is looking phenomenal. Love what you are doing with the tatt needles. i am hoping to have a play with them this weekend as a friend of mine is a tatt artist.

There are two flies but I got to examine the one on the cheek up close in CA.
Under a magnifying glass...and it was incredible!
Plus....trying to concentrate on two things at once, that have that much detail, would just fry my mind |

Perfect timing Lorna - I was hoping to see this one again as I'm working on our son's nephew right now and just wanted another look at that remarkable fine skin texture. I was so impressed with it in CA - seeing it up close was a real bonus but trying to recreate it myself is definitely an even bigger challenge! I'm also using the tattoo needle which Diana gave out and its certainly saving a lot of time. I've ordered a bunch from Amazon so I don't run out.

Thank you everyone...I appreciate it! Glad you like the flies, too...I felt they needed to be a part of this piece. She had many more on her face and my brother said they are so used to them they don't even blink. I didn't think they all needed to be on here though.
Jennie...here's a closeup. On our right you can see where I used the tattoo needle...it's a number 9 round liner. I like the way it doesn't have even lines like the flat tat needle or like the tool from Ampersand with the tiny tines.

Thank you so much for the close-ups Lorna - I don't have that particular tat needle only the 7 flat! The flies are incredible! I can see I still have a long way to go..
