Re: Wild, West 'Taur WIP

Amazing updates so far, the landscape reminds me of my trip to the grand canyon, so well done on the painting!

Dear Kerry, I DO like the basic coloring of the Cattle. the brown with black markings looks nice! Especially the black stripe along their backs! White spotting on the calves would look good also. Go ahead, my friend! Please continue to do what you do best! Paint in oils! LOL! chiron22

I spent the morning working the herd, and, changing the hill, and, erasing the two centaurs in the background...and then, re-painting them in! LOL! Yes, the changing things around is under way...you knew it was just a question of when, ha! No...no details back there yet, still working out what and where things are going. That greyish blob on the very far left will be the other centaur herder chasing in a trio to join the main herd.

LOL! Just so long as it doesn't smell like one, right? Whew! I have nothing new to show. Sorry. I put full blame on the olympics. (LOL! Gotta find something besides myself to put the blame on!) OK, I did have to run my mum around a couple times this week and that does cut into paint time, but, I have been glued to the tube day and night watching...good thing we only get one channel...might not get any sleep, either.

Yeah over here if you got the right tv provider can have 24 channels for the olympics!! It is mad!
The artwork is coming along lovely by the way.

Re: Wild, West 'Taur WIP

yeah, you can here too. We just have the free tv, so only one channel w/olympics.

Well, I spent the day on the herd again. Still not done, but, close. Here is the full image and some close-ups.

This area in the background is pretty small, not much bigger than an ACEO, so, this is blown up quite a bit larger than life size.

Dear Kerry & all who watch her art being created, The Herd is looking VERY good! The back ground shots are SO cute being as small as an ACEO! Your one hair brush is doing a bang up job! Well done, Kerry! *Go ahead & watch the Olympics! No hurry on the commission. A couple of weeks off is OK. Sincerely, chiron22

Re: Wild, West 'Taur WIP

Ha! I am going through my one hair brushes on this one! I average at least two new brushes for each painting like this one, just for the finer detailing, and, I still just wear the tips right off! The old worn down brushes still get used until they are too frayed, and, then they are used as paint mixers on my palette. They are well used before they go in the trash bin!

I have been working on this, but, this stage is very detail intensive so the going is slow. I have been working the main centaur re-defining her shape, especially the face area. She looks pretty odd right now, lol! That will change, I promise! Also been working the foreground area around the centauress and her quarry. Once I get the ground foliage and such worked out, I can get into the figures and get them completed.

Hi kerry, I have been wondering. You do know that Filly IS fully furred like your Black & white Centaur. That is her upper body front, face, hands & ears are white. Her upper body back & arms are black. Hair & tail white. I see that you have made her upper body look skin like. I hope it is just to get the face right. Maybe I am paranoid! LOL! I know you have a ways to go. Again... just wondering. ***DON"T HIT ME!!!*** LOL! Going very well my Friend. Sincerely, chiron22

Re: Wild, West 'Taur WIP

No, didn't know, but, good to find out...now!

I tend to prefer the furred look, myself! LOL! This will be fun to paint. Don't worry, no attempts at hitting are forthcoming...I really do appreciate your input into this, even well into the painting process. As you know, I have no qualms about minor changes (or even the occassional major change), and, I'm not that far into the figure yet anyway.
I don't have an update for you yet, maybe can get something done tonight...

Re: Wild, West 'Taur WIP

I spent the morning on this...doesn't look it, I know, but I worked her face mostly and the vegitation some. She will need a lot more work on her face...not quite there yet.
