mid-morning along the West Carson river

I spent about two hours on this study of the water in the river, trying to keep cool. Its 9 x 12, and was interersting to do. Now I want to try more of these.
It has been and is so hot----its on Uart, 9 x 12, using a turpinoid underpainting . Really was fun to do. c's c's welcome.

This is outstanding! Scenes like that are difficult to do in the studio, let alone on site but you made a winner!

Re: mid-morning along the West Carson river

Thank you David--Yes, these sort of scenes are hard to do, and I always used to shy away from them--but after the Bill Cone workshop I attended last summer, and watching Bill paint--I do feel more comfortable with trying. To get one that looks reasonable is a big bonus!! And its a great way to relax, and cool off on these hot days. I love being outside, and hardly ever use my pastels indoors , maybe in the winter when its cold, and I just have to paint something! Hope you are out there painting! I did see your trees where looking good a while back. Hard to understand just how hard trees are until you try to paint them, right?
