Post calligraphy and watercolor combined

I have been doing calligraphy for nearly 18 years. 14 months ago, I began to study watercolor, and now I am just starting to combine the two. I am hoping to achieve a visual interpretation of the meaning of the words to me. I am confident about my lettering, much less so about using the watercolor!! (please note: the horizontal lines across the piece was my scanner's idea, not mine!)

Hi Gail! I'm glad you posted this. It's absolutley lovely! The ray of light gives it a very enlightening and hopeful nuance! My only suggestion on this would be that the background color might be just a bit dark for the upper areas where the dark lettering occurs. It could just be my monitor though! We've established a long time ago that different monitors can give different effects. It's really beautufl though! I love it!

Thumbs up

Hi Gail ... So glad to see this posting ! I would encourage you to move this one to the watercolor forum though. It will probably be enjoyed by the watercolorists there a lot.
I too have done scriptual paintings and enjoyed doing them - somehow got away from it and you have reminded me nicely.. TY
Hope to see more of your paintings soon -
Carol
