Good morning Greg and those to (hopefully) show up later. Had a pretty severe storm here last night, lots of lightning and thunder about 0100. I didn't remember that until I went outside about 0600 for a run and it was still wet. Raining just a little but not enough to go back inside.
Played around a little with a photo of a leaf that I took on Wednesday.
Cropped a little and manipulated a little more as well. I think I like the one above better. I might put it on my fineardamerica.com page.
I used Corel Photoimpact X3 and I also have Paint Shop Pro. The PSP is a very old version, back when Jasc still owned it, but I am pretty familiar with it. I have been trying to use the Photoimpact more, but I am wondering if I should buy Photoshop Elements and try to learn it, and use just one piece of software. On the other hand I think X3 will do all that I need, and it has features that I still don't know how to use. Plus it would save me $$ if I just learned to use what I have, which is also good.
I've been reading about using continuous mode shooting with my camera this morning, and am anxious to give that a go. I have to say the manual is not very clear on how to do it, so I guess I will just have to go and try it.
Hope all have a good Saturday.

Re: Shutterbug Daily, Saturday, July 7, 2012
Good morning all. I enjoyed the nice photos and stories above.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed so am going offline for a few days to regroup. I've hardly slept or eaten all week. I'm running on pure adreniline. Thanks for all your inspiration lately folks. Just two shots from last night below.
The first is a scene that I circled like a shark last night taking well over 200 photos (and yes, I'm in love with another krishna girl). The second is our old cooky Krishna friend making like Jethro Tull. Have a great weekend all . . .

Re: Shutterbug Daily, Saturday, July 7, 2012
Hi y'all I'm in Arizona right now and for the first time at a private campground, not in a national park, so I have wifi
So far the trip has been great, we've been to Zion and Bryce canyon, Arches National Park, Capitol Reef, Dead Horse Point and Monument Valley. Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon and Valley of Fire are coming up next, then it'll all be over and I'll be home again (in about a week).
Uploading is very slow, so I won't share photos in the thread for now. I have some up on Flickr:

See you all when I'm home again, take care

Re: Shutterbug Daily, Saturday, July 7, 2012
 Fun array of Saturday photos.
Greg,
LOL,
 ,
OMG, you didn't say that, did you?
That is hilarious.
Don,
I think the first manipulation is a nice compositional and colorful piece. I know my camera has many options that I don't use. I need a cheat sheet just to know how to force the flash.
J,
The photos of the people are fun to see, I feel like I am hiding behind a tree staring at them. I bet they don't mind being photographed. I hope your R & R replenishes your spirit and energy
Jennifer,
Your photos look like postcards. Marvelous shots. I have seen some pretty sights here while visiting in Florida but nothing a magnificient as what you are seeing. The photos you are taking are grandstanding some of the most breathtaking natural structures that are in the U.S. I am glad that you are enjoying yourself. Take care.
I am looking forward to coming home on Monday and once again posting some photos. I have not been able to get too much that I am excited about, but it has been fun in Florida. My friend has taken me to many places to take photos. We seem to be on the move from morning to night. I am going to need a vacation after this! Yesterday we went looking for alligators. I didn't get many good pictures but you should see how many mosquito bites I got. We had to stop to get some cream because I could not stop scratching.
You can play connect the dots on my face, net, arms and legs. OMG
LORELL

Nice to hear from you Jen, your photos are beautiful.
Greg, I am loving all the people shots. With my husband's PSTD, we don't spend much time around crowds though I love being around people.
John, hope you recharge your batteries fully! Go to Bed!!
Don's I love the continuous mode, you'll find it really useful especially with animals and birds.
Lorell, mosquitos love me, I can't say I much like them though! Careful driving home, there's storms all over the place.
It finally rained here. Yay! The road was steaming in the rain, I didn't want to get my camera wet though it was cool looking.
Here's the sky before the rain.
And the treefrogs were so happy, this one was hanging out on my boat cover.
It's funny it's down to 90F now and after this week and especially today that feels cool!

Re: Shutterbug Daily, Saturday, July 7, 2012
Well folks, it is just about time to call it a day. It has been a nice, relaxing day for me. I got to do some painting (tried pen & wash for the first time and posted the result in that forum), had a nice, afternoon nap, watched a move with my wife on TV, and the highlight of the day: Booked a flight to Texas to attend the Wine and Music festival over Labor Day. This is the "little sister" of the big festival in May/June. My ticket package includes both festivals but I have never been able to attend the entire Little Folk (as we call it) until now. All I have to figure out now is how to get from the San Antonio airport to Kerrville (about 70 miles away) and where I'm going to sleep after I get there. Ah, mere details. I booked my flight tonight because the ticket price dropped about $23 and I don't expect it to stay there for long.
For my final people shot of the day, here is another view of the "hippy chicks" that I posted yesterday.
I wondered what those marks on her back was, but my wife said it was probably from a swim suit. With all the piercings she had, I wasn't sure if it was some new body marking or something. I love that place. It is great if you are a people watcher. Little Folk will be much tamer, from what I understand, and more laid back.
