At the artist reception, I looked around the crowded gallery and realized that it was finally here. After so many months of agonizing wait....It was finally Here!!!!!! I walked from room to room gazing upon the works of so many talented artists and friends. I laughed with my scratchboard hereos and Idols, i spoke with people as they looked at the incredible art and Damn it....it was going by way to quick!!!!!!!

I had to slow it down....

That's when I stepped out side and crossed the street. I got a soda and walked over under a cool shade tree. I looked back over at the gallery.
In the first window I could see Hector and his friends looking over the beautiful works which hung on the wall. In the front door I could see Harold, Angela and Patrick all laughing and talking with each other. I could see in the next window, Matthew and more people talking and looking at the works, the next window.....even more people, the bench outside the front door, Steve and another person sitting realxing. I watched as people walked up to the gallery and disappeared inside to view the show. I stood there...and continued to watch this Wonderful event. A few minutes turned into 5...then 10...15....and during that time...I soaked it in... that moment..........that feeling.....it will forever be a part of me and who I am.

The entire time.....as I stood and watched.........a smile was on my face.

It still is.

I stopped and smelled the roses.....and the Roses were Beautiful.

Allan,

Beautifully put and so compelling for those of us who could not make it this year.

I have been watching the posts with a mixture of awe, joy and celebration for those there. I also felt that sense of sadness that I was not part of it all.

I know I'm new to this medium and haven't been in this forum very long, but I feel I could walk in a room and be greeted by everyone.

Perhaps, the roses will be in bloom again in 2013 and that I'll get a chance to catch their fragrance too!

Not only will the roses be in bloom again next year....
Their fragrance will be even sweeter, the colors more vibrant, and the petals even more soft.

And I also want to say to the People who made this years event happen...
the ones who set everything up,
planned everything out,
worked so hard to make this Historic event a reality....

Thank You...From the deepest part of my broken down old worn out heart

Without your dedication and devotion....
none of this would be.
You are the Best

Even with Patrick here.....it's still been fun......

Thanks for sharing the roses Allan and thanks to everyone for the pitchers and sharing the fun with those of us who couldn't be there. We have enjoyed it vicariously through you guys.

Please, please, please pictures (or even pitchers) of the gallery walls so we can all see the exhibit (trying to beg on bended knees but just can't get down that far!)
