Unhappy End of the show.

Here is a photo of me and my paintings just before I took them down. It was a month long show. No sales but good exposure!

Thanks for the nice comments Kate, geck, Alan and Carol!

Kate, my wife took the picture.

The problem in SD is we have 3 or 4 artist that are quite famous in the area and everybody is liking their prints rather than an original from an unknown!

I have sold quite a few prints locally of selected paintings but not many originals.

Oh well, I enjoy painting anyway!

Rich, they look beautiful even from here! You're far ahead of me...at least you've had a place to show them

Looks like beautiful work too-those folks must have all their taste in their mouth! Although we have a few of those well-knowns here too and their prints sell for more than others origs and the origs don't sell! Shame too people just don't realize what is good so they buy what someone tells them is good! We should have free community sponsored art appreciation classes given by local critics & artists sort of like an open critique night!

Looking good, Rich. So sorry those folks are so ignorant. Your work is wonderful, and you know, I absolutely love the one on the right. But good exposure ain't nothin' to sneeze at, eh?

That's what I keep telling people Sunny, buy art for what you like, not for an investment. Some of the prints people buy for an "investment" cost $150.00 and there are 9000 of them printed. I don't think they will increase in value in 2 lifetimes!

Nice picture. Seems like a good place to show your works. Good lighting and clean walls. That's great.

Don't take it personally if things don't sell. Art sales are down now because of the economy. Art is always the first place people cut when things are tough. We must just keep creating and not be concerned with sales. Exposure is always a good thing.

Remember Van Gogh never sold a painting in his lifetime.

Thanks Mike and Maria for the comments!

Yes, the economy is very tight here and art is the first thing to be cut from the budget.

I don't take it personally that nothing sells. Just means the right person hasn't seen it yet!

Nice photo Rich, it's great to see you full bodied so to speak. I too am surprised that you made no sales, perhaps you should try doubling the price
