thanks for making me feel at ease about my post, that was very thoughtful of you. I'm still pretty new at WC! I love this place! teehe
I'm glad your sister likes the painting. It's great.
I have to be honest and say I think there is a tiny chance some child may find the wavy images scary. But I think most would find it funny. Hard decision. Maybe you can think of a way to make the houses have smiles, like awnings over the doors, and a bright cheery sky with sunshine. Food for thought! lol
Good luck with your decision, that would be a very rewarding project for you and the children.
Hope you're feeling better, my daughter is sick too! (not a baby anymore though lol still my baby)
take care!

This is so fun!! I say, "Go for it!" as far as the hospital painting. Just add some happy faces and lighten up the sky. Maybe a couple kids in it, too. And pets.

Go for it!! This is great.

You have had WAY too much fun with this painting....
and I have been having fun watching it develop...
Great finish..

Did you find out who that artist is/was who inspired you so..??

I got my drivers license yesterday, so I am dying to drive around to all the art stores, I'm sure you can image!

Shirley,
I try to stick to bright colours- I painted over that maroon house because it was far too dark and I thought about the same thing too.. that it sort of look haunted with such a dark colour.

earthy,
I was going to attempt a different design with the sky and grass, but my sister liked it as is. I drove it over to her house lastnight and helped her hang it up in her study. She loved it and said that it is very inspiring.. something she will look at when she needs a break from study. I will do a few more of this style I think and add animals in the next few.. dogs, cats etc.

lisa;
That is exactly what I will do! Thanks for your advice

fletch;
I didn't end up finding out who the artist was, no.. Though I really had alot of fun with this style.. I have a great feel of acomplishment when I look at it

A work-colleague suggested that I do commissions for people on their houses and pets.. for example, take a few photographs of a persons house and one of their dog or cat and paint the house (in this style) with the animals at the front of the house.

What do you think? I thought it was a great idea.. Might need some practise first.. Might do my own house and see how it goes.
Thankyou for commenting!!
