Okay you can stop sending now! We are getting a brisk rain this evening and, as expected, it is beginning to cause problems in the burn zone, a mudslide closed the highway going up into the mountains. Not a big crisis yet, but flash flooding hither & yon is expected. We have a great man made drainage creek just behind our home so it is picturesque & never overflows. You clued me in on the lack of squash!! Yes it has been over 90 many days this month! I would like to have this weather even out, okay? I bet Lin says the same in WET GB.

Hal you are always topping yourself in cute Gus pics. My Dutchess has the same flat play ball, small world LOL!! We need to say "bol" for "bark out loud".

Re: The Oil Gusher July 2012

I am back from holidays and we spent a week in the saint louis area. It is beautiful up here and our garden has never been so fruitful. There they need rain. Lots of it. Roadsigns indicating fire risks all around, crops dying as they stand in the field. It was sad, but I could understand it in the oppressive heat. We pray for rain there and I know that the drought extends past the area.

That is too bad that Gunner's owners are not more responsible. Good for you and Gus to get the pup back home safely, Hal.

I have been puppy sitting for my daughter's newborn pup since he was a few days old. . . so my daughter can work. He was born just a few days before I retired and came to stay here on the evening of June 30 when he was just three days old, of course his Momma doggie is here as well. My daughter named the pup Rush and she is keeping him. He is the funniest little guy, now five weeks old today. I can share pictures if anyone wants to see him but some have seen his photos/video on facebook I think. He is white with a brindle eye/ear on one side. He's a mini, so he's very tiny. . . 2 lbs right now. But he thinks he is as big as all the other dogs and runs it over my Rio who is 60-65 lbs. She's very gentle

AAAAAAHHHH, that's a cutie Rainy.

My son will spread peanut butter thinly on a paper plate and put on the floor for Gus. He puts his foot on the plate to hold it down while he licks the peanut butter.
