Re: Golden eagle stippling WIP

Thanks Michael, Your right on...some days I'm ready to move to another drawing, then other days I have the time to sit down and really get into it. This will be one of my best stippling drawings when it is finished, but I could knock out 5-6 semi-detailed graphite works in the same timeframe. But it's all about enjoying what you do and being happy with the outcome, right? Nice website you got there by the way.

Re: Golden eagle stippling finished

I have come to the end of my patience with this drawing. I'm calling it complete before I screw something up. Thanks for tagging along everyone.

Fantastic work Scott. The great background sets the Eagle off beautifully.

Inspiring work Scott.... a beautiful result.
The feathers have a lovely light feel and the details of the eye and beak are fabulous.
Reminds me of how much I enjoy stippling, must get my old pens out and have another bash.

Re: Golden eagle stippling WIP

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

dkk- the texture on the right side isn't the paper. It is the techniques i used on the background. After tons and tons of dots I decided I was needing something else. So I did a crosshatch on the background to add something different. I turned out a little overdone to my eyes but it seperated the eagle from the background, which is what I was going for.

I will know the results of the contest on friday. I'll let you know if anything comes of it. I'm not getting my hopes up since there were very few black and whites artpieces entered. So I'll be judged against many beautiful paintings. Either way i'm still happy with it.
