Hails from France
Cap Ferret (France)

Two plein air watercolours painted last week end in the Ferret Cap south west of France near Bordeaux. I did not expect much on painting for there was really a poor light, all was grey without any contrast. I even added some shadows.
Arches rougth 31x41, colours Sennelier.

"In the fishers' s village"

"Marie at the beach"

Re: Cap Ferret (France)

interesting choice of subject on the first one. it looks like a bit of a hidden corner- a bit unusual for plein air- I like it! the second is a lovely scene as well.

I, too, like the second painting better. They are both great.

Very nice. I somehow prefer the first, altho the scene is restful, there is still some tension in the composition.

Re: Cap Ferret (France)

Two lovely paintings, Philippe! I like the objects framing the picture of the first one and the loose drawing and 'random' colour on the left of this painting - I also like the distance!
