My website has functioned as an electronic brochure since it's inception. It's great for gallery contacts and for my clients to view work. My online sales have come from direct email. Whenever I have art news, I send an attachment of my latest painting. I sell many paintings with direct email. I have worked very hard to build a large email address list and it has really payed off.

I've only sold 1 painting from my Web Site yet I didn't intend to sell from it anyway as it is just a personal site.
The way I see it is that to really sell from a web site, that site has to be built with that idea in mind. Sort of like ecommerce. Just having one doesn't help much. Its what you want to do with it and work toward that direction is what gets results.
