Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Dazed and Confused

Got a late start on this today, but since I was in the mood and didn't forsee any distractions, I dove into it. It's late now, a little tired and so I will stop till tomorrow. Not much more to do, but I think I can tweak it some. Its about 27 by 43 inches.

Re: Dazed and Confused

I really like this so I hope you don't mind a note... The highest contrast is on her shirt, so that ends up being the focal point, not her face. I don't know how to resolve it, if you feel it needs to be resolved...? Anyway, as I said, this is a great piece!

Littlebear. Thanks for the reminder on the contrast and I don't see it as a problem here because while it may be the highest contrast, it's only a blouse. The jesture, including the face, weighs heavier than the contrast element being that it is what it is and it is also expressing a human emotion.

Thanks for the compliment and I am happy with it too. This is the fourth painting I have done in eight days and I finally feel "stretched" and ready to run.

Re: Dazed and Confused

I tend to agree with Alex that there is competition for the C of I, with even the strong shape of her abdomen competing. But I can live with those quite happily --- it is her vertical right arm being lost in its adjacent verticals that I find more distracting. Maybe bringing out the elbow a bit more may solve it -- I haven't an answer !
Great vigour and colour selections.
