Heavenly Highway

I have been doing Route 66 themed signs for an art exhibit, and for some reason, the idea came up for a "witness" piece that shows, perhaps, a child's Sunday School version of "heaven". It is the "Way of Holiness", a concept that we cannot even imagine in our present state. The image measures 49 " x 37 1/2 ", acrylic and mixed media on mdf board.

Re: Heavenly Highway

Aw, the sounds of silence! I know this illustration isn't great, but geez. This forum is about as receptive to me as cold oatmeal...lol. Hmmmm...maybe unsalted crackers in lukewarm water sitting in a doggie bowl for a few days under a dripping willow tree after a cold day's drizzle may be a better comparison. Oh...everyone is painting! The Church must be busy painting, too, because I haven't seen anything but apathy there also. As the cliche goes, "God bless!" (Because a phrase without meaning to fulfill its purpose is a cliche). I suppose I spelled cliche wrong, but who cares? LOL.....

Re: Heavenly Highway

Ha Ha, I don't check this forum often. Hwy 777, would be an North-South route right? I think that's how they do it in the USA, odd numbers for North and South roads, even numbers for East-West roads. I didn't notice any turn-offs or cloverleafs though... Definitely no U-turns allowed. Hmm, is that smiley allowed in this forum section?

I definitely like the painting, great message and tie in to the verse.

Re: Heavenly Highway

The WC forums seem to be pretty quite of late, in general. It isn't you. Another LORD-related piece. (very different)

Re: Heavenly Highway

the first thing that grabbed me was the sign. 7 in Gods number economy means "new beginning". The whole piece invites you in and makes you think. A good inspirational piece.

I love this, even the color chosen makes it look more holy. Looks soft and wonderful, the way we see true happiness in our lives.
