It is lightfast ASTM I pigment, but inferior quin PR122, PV19. I bought it in art shop only 3 days ago Their shop assistant said it is perfect for still life and floral painting ( And "gives a dramatic effect to bouquets" After these words, I just wish to buy it immediately! Yeah! )

It is similar in color and prise to an unknown transparent iron oxide.

Giga, I can't wait for you to show a few experiments with that color!

Anyway, but "inferior to PR122 and PV19," what do you mean ? Is it lightfastness? PV19 is "lightfastness 1" indeed, but overall it is a bit less stable than PR122 (Maimeri seems to make the most lightfast PR122 from the paints listed – 8,8 on the Blue Wool Scale.) Here are the links:

PV19:

PR122:

As for the "unknown" transparent iron oxide, I think the color might be close "Brown Oxide" (PR101 as well.) It's somewhat rare, considering you can probably get a similar hue it with Transparent Red Oxide (PR101) and Mars Black (PR101.)

Yes. There was also interesting "Ultramarine Rose" PR259 tubes. Is anybody who had try to use it? (sounds good!)
As i know all ultramarines has the same lightfastness ratio and also do not owerpower mixtures or glaze.
It might be great to use for portrait paintings to mix flesh tone but only if it really has "pink" or magenta color and not violet. I like to paint skin with yellow ocher and cobalt pink, while ultramarine is three times less expensive than cobalt!

i have PR259 in Umton aquarelle and its very soft reddish pink (to me nrmal pink is light cool red,i know in english pink ,means light red nothing less or more but to me pink is allways cool hue,and light red can be cool or warm..) i think and i recommend it only for skies not maybe faces. and is clearly more weaker than my cobalt violets (also form Umton) maybe 3-5 times weaker. Very special colour i think very special uses. and my ultramarine pink maybe works glaze and some things in sky but i dont have much use for it. maybe some very light flowers also want it. ps. rare pigments maybe mean they use only for advanced users what know what they want. one my hobbies is test all rare pigments in aqurelle.
