Re: Ulla's Virtual Art Journal June 2012

Thank you, Joan and Debby!

Here comes something different - I have been experimenting with markers and coloured pencils, and here are some leaf studies:
t
The first step is to colour with markers. Then I added another shade of green, blue or even yellow with my coloured pencils, and in the end went over it again with a colourless blender marker.

Interesting leaf studies. The two media seem to work well together.

Re: Ulla's Virtual Art Journal June 2012

Another dragon

This version of the dragon was first done with a light red copic marker (almost pinkish), and then worked over with coloured pencils in various shades of red.
Comments and critique are welcomed as always!

Super dragon. The expression on it's face is great.

Re: Ulla's Virtual Art Journal June 2012

Thank you, Joan and Debby! It's the combination of markers and coloured pencils that does it, I think.

Re: Ulla's Virtual Art Journal June 2012

Fantasy red flower

I had no special flower in mind when I did this, it is just "a flower". Again first the markers and then the pencils (coloured pencils as well as wc pencils, dry), and then the colourless blender marker.
Comments and Critique are highly welcome!

Great job on these, my favorites are the dragon and the leaf studies.

Re: Ulla's Virtual Art Journal June 2012

First Acrylic piece

I spent one week with my friends, and one of them is an expert with acrylic paints. I could try out his paints and brushes, and decided to have a go when I was back in Berlin.
This painting has been done on watercolour paper the size of a postcard.
Critique and comments are highly welcomed!

Wow, vibrant colors you achieved in the tulip. Nice.

How did you like the acrylics. Loos like you had fun with them!
