"Cades Cove-A Look Toward Townsend" 11X14 Oil on C

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: "Cades Cove-A Look Toward Townsend" 11X14 Oil on C
Year Created:
Medium: Oil
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 11X14
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
An area in the Smoky Mountains were light can peak over some peaks very well but not others.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Overall thoughts. I am going to a minimalist approach, trying not to complicate things too much but don't want to have a boring painting. What are your thoughts?

I moved your earlier post to structured and added some thoughts.
I'm wondering if the distant mountains are really grey?

Going minimalist is working. But it seems your focal point is the dark green triangle in the bottom left corner, with the dark green in the center middle bottom as compliment, this is highly annoying.

Nice job on the sky but I think the rest is too minimalist and needs more work. One specific point is that you've got a real dark green around the distant trees and this messes up the sense of depth as darks accompanied by sharp edges and contrast move forward in space.

Sorry but this does nothing for me. It is restful but the sky needs work and there is no coi. Mabe it is a study of atmospheric perspective. If so, work it up some more.

Is there a Cove?
There needs to be more than Neapolitan bands or layers
