In the upper mountains

Oil on canvas, 50x70 cm.
Ref was an own sketch done at my crossing of the alps at an altitude of 2500 m in midsummer.
The two hikers had been added (I was alone)
I hope for your critiques and comments.
Thank you.

Re: In the upper mountains

Very dramatic, and looks cold! And kudos to you for stopping to sketch at that place.

Re: In the upper mountains

I love the colours used on the alps, makes the whole scene very cool looking and realistic and I also feel the foreground rocks give it perspective and interest. Great painting!.................Jen

Hi Thomas,
Doing a sketch up in the Alps in the snow gives you bragging rights Thomas. I don't know that I'd be hiking alone though....too many things can go wrong. Nice work on the painting my friend.

Re: In the upper mountains

Thank you for your nice replies.
I hope I can leave my painting.

Of course, things can go wrong crossing the alps alone.
I was aware of being alone, so I was accordingly cautious.

I had three dangerous accidents, not in the mountains but on the street/highway. My car was totally damaged...
