Re: ***Daily Wash Tuesday May 22 2012***

I was a bit disappointed with my photos considering it was a nice day. here are a few:

On the way we went to the Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle a wonderful art collection in a French Chateau:

Old bus:

Even older bus:

Old tram:

Newer Tram:

Hardware Store:

Beamish Pit:

We drove home via Richmond and Wensleydale.

Richmond Castle from Ure Bridge:

On the way home we stopped to sketch Bolton Castle in Wensleydale:

PS I just took the scooter to the repair place and found it was working! Apparently there is a reset button on the battery which protects it from overload.

Good morning... it's cool and cloudy in SW Ontario this morning... about dinner time last night, the wind changed direction and brought lots of cold air with it... it rained a wee bit very early this morning, but that wind still has a little bite in it...

I can't stay online too long... I spent a few minutes in the Gallery... I'm always awed by all the talent and the beautiful work that's posted.

Yesterday, my afternoon group learned how to stretch and staple their paper for gallery wrapping... they did a great job, but were a little fearful of my pneumatic stapler... This afternoon's group will be doing the same.

Lulu, my visits to the Dentist are never that zen...

Your photos are phantastic Doug! There appears to be some Monthly Challenges there, I suspect!

Annie, your most recent gouache is breathtaking...

A little white light is dashing out to ((Winnie)) and ((Darla's Dad))...

Hi Peter, Gill, Kay, ((Geoff)), JJ, Reiki and all yet to come... I'm off to begin my day in earnest... I hope yours is the very best possible...

Re: ***Daily Wash Tuesday May 22 2012***

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Cooler - thank you God!!!!!!!!! High today expected to be 22C with sunshine.

First thing on my list is to shove all the branches from trees and bushes into the trunk of my car and take them to the recycling center. Then I will buy some string and create a climbing grid on the fence so my new Honeysuckle bush can be planted and do it's thing. Will attract lots of hummingbirds.

After that, weeding. I finally broke down and spent two hours watering the garden yesterday evening so hopefully soil is still damp.

Pat, good to see your mom so cheerful!!! Here, when they do the hip replacements they somehow inject morphine right into the hip and for the first 24 hours there is no pain whatsoever, then the morphine wears out and then I wonder if they do the same with the knee operation.

Doug, great photos!! I was amazed that Britain had doubledecker buses all these years ago. about the scooter.

Annie, I'll check out your new painting right after this, thanks for the reminder Lulu!!

Lulu, I think there is something wrong with your pain receptors and your hearing because the very first second of hearing that drill all relaxation would be out of the window.

O.K. I don't want to linger and miss the nice cool air. to all here and all yet to come.

BTW, WC was unbelievably slow when I signed in, doesn't ususally happen to me. I hope it has improved.

Uschi

Good Morning/afternoon all Sunny again here, looks lovely, I can enjoy my balcony again.

Doug, nice photos! and the Bowes museum too.... They have a dress I'd love to see IRL, want to know how it closes up, can't see from the pic online.

Hi Geoff, Lulu, Annie, Peter ( )

(((Carolynn)))

(((JJ)))

Caryl, what a weekend....you tell it very well!

Visual migranes in the wash lately, just had one, it is disturbing! Mine come with the residue of the whiplash I had before Christmas, darn nuisance, but thankfully not much pain (except in the neck!)

Gill, loved your latest photo album!

Abigail, very interested in your colour stuff, I used to print photos in a lab, we always worked with CMY, but somehow my brain just can't translate to my painting. I understand some schools are using it, though, instead of RBG. Loved the story about the dishwasher!

Kay, we are embarking on some auditions....my youngest grandchildren are ' getting calls, and today they want a 'family' at play with the 4 yr old.....I'm the only family member that can go with my DIL, so will be an adventure for me. I think my DIL will be doing a lot of driving about for two kids with different auditions, but she wants to try it. Since they are helping me with our Westfield fashion shows, I have to go!

Sylvia, good luck with the 'rats'. They are in the roof and walls of our building...darn nuisance! My son gave me a little bird feeder for mother's day, I didn't want to tell him that I can't put it up, the darn rats would just jump on it and dump it.

I hope all have a great day,

Good Day All,
Welcome back, Doug and Ruth. Glad you had a good time. Terrific photos!

((Winnie)) Glad the surgery went well. Seems the anesthesia didn't bother her.

((Darla and Family))

((Shirley)) I hope you are feeling better today.

Like Char says, it has cooled here temporarily.

Going for a routine physical today, then a little shopping.

Bill

Re: ***Daily Wash Tuesday May 22 2012***

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all the hugs and kind thoughts. I had a hectic evening and wasn't able to call my Mom to see how Dad did with his first round of chemo. By the time I got a chance to call it was too late and I thought they might be in bed. Larry and I actually went to bed earlier than usual last night and I was just dozing off when my BIL called! It was 10:15pm and with all my sleeping troubles I was in a fog for a while. He just recently retired and I guess he thinks EVERYONE can sleep in. Anyway...it was bad for me because then I lay awake for hours...grr...needless to say I wasn't a happy camper this morning when my alarm went off.

But I'm here at work now and making the best of it. Hopefully I can stay awake. I treated myself to a Tai Chi Latte this morning just because.....

Doug, those pics are lovely; what beautiful scenery. Interesting buses.

Annie, your new painting is AHHH...MAZING!

So glad that (((WINNIE))) did fine with her surgery and praying they will be able to keep the pain under control.

LuLu, I'd never be able to fall asleep in the dentists chair; it's just not my favorite place to snooze; but like you I really don't mind getting work done. I'm always glad when it's over though.

Uschi, yes it's nice to have cooler weather; however we didn't get anything except spitting drops. We NEED rain badly. It's gloomy again this morning and I just wish it would rain but they are saying sunny later today.

Char, I'm glad you received at least some rain there.

(((JJ))) hope you are feeling somewhat better.

(((GEOFF))) hope your Dr appt goes well today.

Kay, your landscape painting is BEAUTIFUL! You certainly haven't lost your painting ability.

Lynn, I've had a whiplash too...many, many years ago and I'm STILL bothered with headaches, neck pain from it.

Hello there Bill; did you get much rain?

REikiart; is Tennessee having severe storms today? Although my boys live there they hardly call.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and that you experience some creative energy.

Waving to Gill, Lynn, Peter,

Re: ***Daily Wash Tuesday May 22 2012***

morning all !

laud...I posted the picts, but not the final project. The base frame shop went out of business and so now for the final mounting I need to wait until we move into the big house and get all my framing supplies out of government storage. All of my matting and my giant Logan mat cutter are 200 miles away. I WILL POST I promise!

Lulu - I can't see them in the RIL yet. My side still says, awaiting approval. Maybe I need to clear my cookies. I saw the actresses and immediately thought of you.

OK the OTHER BIG news. I have just been made the official photographer for the Air Force Summer Military Field Training. ACK! Apparently they are impressed with my photo portfolio. They haven't had one for over 8 years and wanted some updated reference, training, and stock photos. YAY!

House waiting list - still at #10.....sigh..... it'll happen, it'll happen......lamma lamma lammmma.....best mantra I can come up with.

Am currently working on a portrait of my dad. It's driving me slowly insane. He and I share the same skintone, which is not one I am used to working with. Add to the fact my photo reference is awful terrible......

OK. off to make the marketing list.

Hugs to Shirley and Winnie!
Have a great day everyone

Re: ***Daily Wash Tuesday May 22 2012***

Well I feel better today and can eat again. Have some discomfort but extra strength Tylenol seems to make me mostly comfortable. Thank you all for the hugs. Mostly passing "dirt" which is good.

Hope Winnie has a comfortable day. Nice picture of her smiling.

Doug, your pictures are wonderful. I love all the old buses. The might be fun to paint. Are you thinking that way? I started to put my garden onto a spread sheet in Excel. Maybe I can sit and work on it a bit today.

Needless to say, we have had to give up on going to our son's wedding, unless some Miracle happens. The doc said before the surgery I couldn't, and yesterday that I possibly could. They won't do an X-ray for another 10 days to see if I have passed it all. Don't think I want to get that far from home until it is resolved. Son is disappointed and so are we, but life happens. So now I have a very nice dress and nowhere to wear it. I told Don that maybe we could get out pictures taken professionally this summer.

Wishing all a good day.

Shirley

Brilliant afternoon here......hot and breezy..best for weeks...but too warm to finish my planting out.............nice pics Doug......Bowes is a bit special........

Medical appointment went well...bloods good although my sugar has risen a little. Training Nurse from local hospital in attendence couldn't believe I would be right on my predicted BP..........but it is under control pillwise and 124/72 is good for a man of my weight and age....

Talked about 'diabetic legs' at night ,seems it is a problem we almost all have.

No diabetes here, but many times same problem Geoff. My feet are ALWAYS outside the cover right under the open window even in the depth of winter

Looks to be another warm day here, not so bad. I have plans to get out on my own but think I will have to have Jack with me, he LOVES his new phone Nokia Lumia 900, like a kid with a new toy. He resisted as he did have the Pay-As-You-Go phone but needed more "stuff" DGD Lauren said he needs a case and a screen proctector.

Doug, is the Bowes museum where the Queen Mum lived ?

No Judy, it was built as a museum, but the Queen Mum's family (the Bowes-Lyons) had links with the family.
