 ~ BEE BUTT!!! ~
Welcome to the 'club'!
Marvelous roses!!!
My "honest opinion and suggestion" would be to use a TAD (very tiny, tiny, tiny) amount of post processing. A touch of contrast adjustment (levels and/or curves) and a wee bit of sharpening for the uploaded versions. Mind you, JUST a small bit of either.
I think you're doing a fantastic job with that new camera. Congratulations and "Happy Birthday" (whenever it is!~ )

Thanks
The uploaded versions definitely lost some sharpness when I optimized them. They are smaller in kb than they need to be, so I could probably be a little less harsh with my compression too. I will give it another try before I put them on my website.
I am familiar with sharpness, level, and contrast adjustment, but what, technically does adjusting curves do to the photo?
I had to stand there for ten minutes waiting for that bee to come out of that rose and show me his butt!

Wow these are gorgeous !!!! Would you consider putting them in the image Library or giving me permission to use the pink ones to do in colored pencil?
What kind of camera did you get?

COOL! Another "nut!"
 ~ WAY to GO! ~
I'm sure that by now you know "Bee butts" and "Bug porn" belong to a long list of our forum's summer "passions".
Oh...nearly forgot. I can't tell you "technically" what the curves adjustment actually does to the photo. I only know that sometimes it works better (and perhaps a little easier) than levels on certain images.
And...I have to agree with cbarber...please consider putting some of your roses on "exhibition" in the Ref Library.

It rains a lot here normally (60-100 inches a year) and normally does not get above 68F during Spring. We are actually having a heat wave (mid 70's). The Pacific ocean is also just over a cliff a few feet away. So the salt air and coastal cold and wind probably don't help them grow.

cbarber~ Go ahead and use them I may use some for reference for an acrylic painting. It is always neat to see different people's interpretations of a reference.
RE:Reference Library~ I will add them over there.
Oh, and the Camera is a Canon Powershot G3.

Looks like you and the new camera are getting along well. Nice shots! I've never seen so many perfect roses Also a wave from a native Oregonian (though from the east side).
