Re: Glass Jars

Thanks Barb
Re' the reflections, I've never painted glass before so I was just trying to paint shapes. I started from left to right, and did the 1st 3 tall ones in the back and painted around the the short square one. Then I painted the square one and when I got done with that one, I was surprised to see that I had painted the two jars showing through behind it!
Doh! I was so concentrated on painting shapes that I didn't even know what I was painting!

Re: Glass Jars

Yep, paint what you see is usually the best way to go with glass, and water.

Re: Glass Jars

bryn, thanks much! No, glass is not that easy, but I think if you just look at it as different shapes and colors, then you can get a good representation.

Re: Glass Jars

Nice work! Transparency can be a difficult nut to crack, at least it has been for me. The more I see from this art rage program I am getting more curious to try it. I have used Corel Painter in the past and loved it but its a bit too expensive to purchase at the moment.

Re: Glass Jars

Hey, thanks! Yea, Artrage is interesting, my demo version is due to run out in 5 days, but it's not too bad to buy, I think around 60 bucks. It's the first painting program I've tried besides Gimp, which I think is a great ap, and not just because it's free.
I downloaded the demo of Corel Painter 12, but haven't opened it yet. But no, I don't think I'll be purchasing that, I think it's like $350!
