Iris (flower)
It has not turned out the way it should have, but I hope it looks a bit pretty. I am just learning.

Re: Iris (flower)
I think the main thing is just to enjoy the process and improve as you go along. CP's are great and I am so loving mine. Your Iris is pretty.

Re: Iris (flower)
It is pretty. I like the colors you used. I am doing a piece now that has a bunch of tiny leaves. I hate leaves lol. I will get through it and I am sure someone else could do the leaves better than I, but I learn a little each time I try.

Re: Iris (flower)
Well done, I haven't tried one of these yet as they look hard to do, so good on you for getting it done. I'd like to see what else you do as your learning.
edit: forgot to ask what paper and pencils did you use? and how big is it?

Re: Iris (flower)
Oh, thank you very much for such nice comments. I used sketching paper 180 gr (A4) and artist grade Kooh-i-noor pencils. The flower is from the study book about botanical pencil drawing.

Re: Iris (flower)
Wow, so many positive comments. Thank you very very much! It is definately not something experienced people of this forum would have as an end result, but, according to you, I am not hopeless. Thanks for your encouragements. I also don't like leaves because they are hard to color.

No - you are certainly not hopeless! It looks great and you will find that as you keep practising and exploring CPs you will surprise yourself.

Re: Iris (flower)
It is very pretty! I love iris but I think these flowers are very difficult to do and you were able to capture their movement and the colors are beautiful.

Re: Iris (flower)
Lovely work on your Iris, don't be discouraged if your work doesn't turn out how you have envisioned it, as you continue to absorb more knowledge from this fabulous Forum Library and other great Artists WIP's and keep producing more art, your expectations will finally start to be met by your improving skill .
My first Cp piece was a flower and it isn't until you attempt a flower that you realise just how much work they take. I am still learning and even the greatest artists will tell you that they still learn new things with every artwork .
So keep going and enjoy the process and worry less about the final outcome, you are certainly NOT hopeless .
