Giving this to my mom...

Please no critizism or suggestions...as it is already framed and ready to give to my Mom tomorrow on Mother's Day. I took a picture I had of their house and property...my car was in the driveway but didn't think that needed to be in the picture, so took that out. LOL Anyway, I've showed it to several people, and didn't tell them what it was of, and they immediately went..."Oh, it's your mom and dad's place". So thankfully, that tells me I got it right, as you can tell what it is. Anyway, I just wanted to share it with you. I worked on it last week, and finished and framed it this week. I can't wait for her to see it. I know she is going to love it. Today, I am going to paint and make a card for her.

Here it is framed. I can't get a good picture of it now, due to the glass it is behind. But I put a dark green and burgandy mat around it, and it really brings out those colors from the painting. I am very pleased with it, in the frame.

I love hand-painted cards too. They are small enough you can do them quickly, but the recipient knows you took time to make it just for him or her.

Lisa, that's fabulous! When I was little the neighbor's son was a very good oil painter, and my mom commissioned him to paint a picture of her mother's house. It's a family treasure now, just like this painting will be for your mom. Thanks for showing it to us!
