screen reverts to saver way too soon

I've been painting from the screen. I'm computer illiterate. How can I keep the photo on the screen, rather than the screen dissolving to the screen saver every few seconds? Seems like I have to run to click something every 30 seconds or so now. I don't think I'm getting even a minute of painting time. I have both gimp out and windows picture and fax viewer.

Please, in English, and for dummies!

You need to adjust your display or power management properties. Generally you can extend the time when plugged into the mains.

Yup.
Go to Start button.
Then go to Control panel
Then go to Appearance and personalization
Then under personalization
Choose screen saver and in there you can adjust the time it comes on.

Tip for the future. You really should just play with your computer. You’ll learn more that way.
If you make a mistake just go back and or just click out and start over.

Computers don't bite, they byte.

It is an XP, and the screen saver minutes box was set to 10 minutes. I moved it to 11. Ill keep my eye on it.
Thanks.

Re: screen reverts to saver way too soon

It seems to have helped. I haven't timed it, but it is staying on for longer than a few seconds.
