Computer Crash

Hi, I am usually on the pastels, acrylics, or landscapes forum and I like to paint from my computer. It crashed today and a tech told me that viewing my photos on-screen for hours at a time is really bad for the system. It burns out cheaper computers and that a $1200 computer or more is the answer. Any thoughts? I am crying at the moment. derek

Re: Computer Crash

What they told you is rubbish! Old cathode ray tubes used to suffer from "Burn in" when the test card was displayed for long periods but LCD displays don't suffer this problem.

They are trying to sell you a more expensive computer.

Re: Computer Crash

Doug: Thanks so much my friend. It seems after more research and phone calls to reputable repair shops it may be a hardware problem such as motherboard, or the graphics chip. Not a hard fix at all.
I got the dreaded white screen and then the computer went into a boot up and turn off loop over and over again. Even when unplugging and replugging it would do the same loop quickly, not even enough time to press the f8 button.
