Post a lot of land in this scape

I painted this after being dropped off <IMG SRC="http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/11-Mar-2001/topofworld.jpg" border=0> on the top of a 4000 ft mountain left alone with a cigar and pastels what a strange place to paint the perspective was daunting.
This isn t a great scan but hope you get the feel of place did 2 pastels while there... one OK and one not, approx 18x24",pastel on canson paper. regards Dan

Mr. Gray, your work is stunning and I'm glad it was you who had the priveledge of painting this scene from such a rare vantage point. Thank you for posting it. What kind of cigars do you smoke?

Painting a place that has all the same relative texture can be difficult. You did a nice job of creating variety in the texture and the colors in capturing this scene. You also show the sense of vastness in this landscape.
