A popular mountain road in the Los Angeles area is the Angeles Crest Highway. And 2 1/2 years ago there was a raging fire that swept through, hoping here and there burning many thousands of acres. At about elevation 5200 ft. were these three Manzanita bushes, burned dead and blacked, juxtaposed against the receding valley of spared pines and cedars and under a setting sun. So I laid out my paper and started to fling a little paint around as I consumed a glass of wine or two...... Having a ton of fun traveling and painting from my new RV. This is a watercolor 27" by 38". Any comments welcome.
