Swans

And cygnets!

Photographing big white birds on a sunny day on dark dark water is an exposure nightmare, lol. Here's one where the whites weren't COMPLETELY blown out on momma. I like the pose, it's like she's trying to teach them proper posture but the little guy in the back is the only one getting it.

Then there's this one ... I just like it because of the grouping of the little fluffballs.

And then in this one I think the exposure on the cygnets was pretty good, but of course now momma's tail is blown out. Oh well, I'll get there eventually.

Amy...I love these shots! The first one made me chuckle...you're absolutely right about mama's "proper" posture.

~ EXCELLENT SHOTS! ~

Amy.... you just made me cackle! lol @ the first one!!!

White birds on a practically black pond... humm... I can't think of a more difficult scene to photograph! I have an idea... maybe next time try the Spot AF Area and move the bracket over to the mama's tail... you need to be quick on that rocker dial, but I think you'll get an exposure you can work with.... it's a tough subject! Especially in sunlight. You got really close on the middle one! Probably because they fill so much of the frame that the water wasn't an issue. Way to go... these are so sweet!
