Is the Faber-Castell Polychromos Hard Pastel line being scaled down

I was just doing some shopping at Dakota and noticed that the 120 piece full set of Faber-Castell Polychromos Hard Pastels has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Over on Blick the largest set they offer is 36 pieces. I'm wondering if anyone knows what this means - are the number of colors offered by this brand being reduced, too? Or is it just that they'll be available from open stock but not all as one big set?

Re: Is the Faber-Castell Polychromos Hard Pastel line being scaled down

I just checked Dakota, Fineartstore.com and the Faber-Castell websites and there seems to be no mention of any scaling down. All 120 pastel sticks are still available in open stock. The only thing that seems to be discontinued is the 120 set in a metal box. The other websites don't mention that set at all, so it's possible that this was only a Dakota offering. Jerry's seems to have a 100 piece set, that isn't available anywhere else that I could see. I realize that this is not a definitive answer. You could always call Dakota and see what they say.
