My Studio

I just named my studio... Been sitting here, wanting to name it something, and so I looked up words about calmness and relaxation and came up with "Simply Serene". So that is what I am naming it. So glad my husband let me have it. It use to be his catch all storage shed, which had 3 workbenches around the edges and sawdust everywhere, but then he quit using all of that and decided to just start storing stuff in there. I then wanted to give dog grooming a try...I mean, I do our 3 dogs and they do fine...found out not all dogs are that mellow. LOL Decided against that and that was when I decided to use it as my studio. It is so calm and peaceful out there, with the window open and the waterfall sound coming from our 100 gal. pond. Anyway, I wanted to share this with my new found friends. Here is a picture of it. I do hope to try and paint this, someday. May go ahead and give it a go, just to see, and then I will know what to improve on the next time I try and paint it.

The inside of it, well, part of it anyway. My new chair and table where I paint. This picture makes it look messy out there. LOL And it really isn't...I know where everything is. hahaha

Lisa. It is a wonderful place for you to paint in. The sound of the water outside your window is an added bonus as well as a visual one.

Well done!!!

Re: My Studio

Wow, you are very fortunate to have a nice place to paint. Looking forward to seeing your painting of it.

That might be a good thread, (although it has probably been done before), to have folks post photos of their studios. I do have my own room, with computers, books, lots of musical instruments and a table that serves as my studio. My daughter even bought me a "man cave" sign to go on the door, although I understand such signs are "out of fashion" now. But I'll leave it up since she bought it.

WOw....I'm SO jealous! Lisa what a perfect spot in which to paint; and yes the sink is a BONUS! Good for you taking over this spot. Love your little 'Simply Serene' studio. Thanks for sharing. Love your pond too. Your set up on the inside is great.

Lisa, you are so fortunate. My space is a corner in the basement with no windows. Some day!

Re: My Studio

Thank you!! I love being out there. I either have it totally quiet, and right now, with it being Spring, birds are out in full tilt and they chirp and sing all day. Or sometimes I put in my iPod and play my instrumental music...I love all sorts of that. Very relaxing. I found out how relaxing it was, when I was trying dog grooming...well, the space was relaxing, wrestling with dogs wasn't. LOL I agree this would be a neat thread, where everyone can post where they create. I use to try and do crafts on our dining room table, but for almost every meal, I had to clean it up. Drove me nuts, and that was when I sort of left crafting anything, which led to not even sketching. Just forgot about it all. It wasn't until this year that I remembered what I use to do and how I missed it. I think I am either going to make a sign, or get one with the name on it and hang it up over the door or beside the door. Right now, I paint with the door all the way open, when it is nice out. It is extra wide so it makes it feel like I am outside. Really loving this space.
