Re: May showcase

Diane, LOVE that bracelet! I'd like to go to the prom with Ellen!

Leslie, Great display and congrats on the sales! I always like to see how people display their beads/glass. Shows are trying to tempt me back, but...

Rebecca, Those are sweet cupcakes. Love the dusting on a couple of them. Yum!

Karen, That must be a very cool bead or we are all of the same generation. It's the word that popped in my mind and I see it was used again and again.

Sam, What a great way to test your murrini. Some of those are quite stunning.

Belinda, You haven't lost your touch. Those are so pretty. I feel like I can enter a forest through your beads. A magical portal to an enchanted forest.

Oh, I see Ellen feels the same about your beads. Hadn't even read her comment when I wrote that!

Ellen, Pretty necklace. I'd wear that to the prom!

Yesterday was one of those days I shouldn't have torched, though the shells I made are all fine. Turned on my kiln and thought I had started it. Knew it would be hot by the time I finished this shell. Wrong, it was at 70 degrees because it was on, but not started. So I waved this bead in and out, in and out... of the flame for what seemed forever. Was afraid all that was going to kill the silver reactions. Wrong, it's these lovely shades of pinks and purples that I didn't quite capture.

Re: May showcase

Maggie you have made the beautiful even more stunning.
All that waving paid off. I think that is how we discover the best things - quite by accident.
Veryy pretty

Re: May showcase

Diane that bracelet is beautiful. Great job on it.

Rebecca great looking cupcakes

Karen the swirls on your bead are very cool.

Sam great murrini.

Belinda you may not think they are the best, but they look great to me.

Ellen wonderful colorful necklaces.

Maggie that would be rough if the kiln was not up to temp. Good thing those little kilns come up pretty fast. Looks like it was a happy accident though. The iridescence on the shell looks nice.

Re: May showcase

Great stuff, Duane! We like the images big so we can see the details better. If you'd not said you'd not had much torch time, you could have fooled me. Nice to see what you've been up to....are you making beads to trade at The Gathering?

Re: May showcase

A special note on the last pic, the eye pendant. Some of you may know Cori, Bellabean on LE. The pendant is for her oldest daughter, "Bean," who is about 5 or 6 (I think). She is very much into zombies!! I used Pipyr's eye tutorial, pulled it down but only used what was on one of the thick ends. To get the effect I wanted I had to use a band saw to cut my slices and then I used my (stained glass) grinder to smooth down the front and back sides.

The pendant will be completed and mailed out tomorrow.

Duane
