Re: May showcase

Ellen, You beat me to it! Was just coming here to start off May. 26 seashells of summer made, 74 to go. This is my favorite so far, the pink is so gorgeous, photo not so much. I had to list it quick before I kept it for myself.

Re: May showcase

Thanks ladies!

Diane, Pretty beads and necklace. I love the hearts and swirl designs. That bead that is at about 7:00 is super duper pretty!

I torched some mini kalypso shells today for someone. Sure hope they turn out. Keeping five layers of glass earring size is a challenge for me. Think some may actually be too thin as I was trying too hard.

Re: May showcase

Diane - you did a nice job assembling your own beads after two years. And don't apologize for the big pics. We like 'em big around here.

Re: May showcase

Here's a BHB and some earring disks.

And, yes, I see the bead poop in the hole of the red disk. Gotta clean that sucker out.

Re: May showcase

ellen and maggie thank you. It took 2 years before I felt comfortable doing a necklace for some one else.. I have been trying and wearing my own before doing for others... the finishing off always made me nervous..doing the pinching of those silver beads so your string stays put..had visions of those letting go and beads everywhere..

Ellen your disc are so springy summery colors... I like the size too perfect for earrings.. very impressed how identical they each are.. Pretty raking on that bhb great feathering!

Re: May showcase

Maggie your shells are wonderful. I can see them now displayed on a seascape display board.

Diane no need to worry. That necklace is gorgeous.

Ellen beautiful bright colors.

So last Friday I was working with a person who is relatively new to glass blowing, so I asked him what he would like to make. He said a bowl, so I suggested that I also show him how to do a simple color application.

Not one of the best bowls I have done, but we had fun and he got to see how to apply the colors.
