Thx Nancy..I had forgotten thats where the Dylan came from..I tried a 'loose " style..looks more messy than anything else..oh well.. .
Lovely painting..your last few have been beauts!!(even more than usual)..never thought I'd be jealous of a frog..waiting for the kiss

Thanks nancy. I think the feet look fine. You do amazing work with the human form and the expressions. Just beautiful!

Re: What's On Your Easel?....May 2012

Here's the latest on the Water Nymph. I had to stop painting today, and didn't get the lily in because all that green is not dry enough to paint over. I might not get back to it this weekend, but I hope I can - the flesh tones look rough. I also think I'll get rid of the three lilypads behind the frog...

Thank you, Becca! I kinda hate to quit on it for days, but it would be a mess if I painted more wet into wet...I feel barely in control of it now! I need a break from it.

Re: What's On Your Easel?....May 2012

Wanted to get this one finished today, but should really have been out painting in the sun somewhere...

For now I am calling it, with great imagination, 'Cement Train 2'. WIll have to come up with a better title. Any suggestions?!

Oil on panel, 20 x 10. Comments and criticism always welcome, thanks.

Re: What's On Your Easel?....May 2012

Thanks for all the kind words. I've tweaked this just a little; realised that the wall of the sheds next to the train should have been in shadow. Doh!

Re: What's On Your Easel?....May 2012

This is Jake- he posed for our Portrait group this morning. I had a drawing of him from last week so today I arrived with an underpainting on my linen panel and was able to finish. He is a nice kid.

Not sure it's any good. I have had a hard time judging my values lately. Maybe my eyes are gettign old?

14" x 18" oil on linen
