Great wisdom in that thought. I've always love art and marveled at artists. We bought so many paintings that we ran out of room to hang them. Then we moved to a smaller house without thinking about the fact that we'd have fewer walls on which to hang art.
One of the reasons I've loved art may have been because it was something I felt I could never do. Wasn't blessed with that special artistic gene. I firmly believed that until I met a professional artist last year and we became friends. He didn't ever push me, but suddenly I found myself wanting to paint. Well, actually, I guess I had always wanted to paint...but didn't have that gene. Anyway, I talked to him about it, he gave me some tips, and now I'm painting. I've been taking classes online and at a local art store. In fact I'm taking the Snow and Grass Class that Johannes is teaching online this weekend.
Nothing worthy of posting yet, and I still may not have that gene, but I am loving the painting. Learning so much with every sketch and painting.
It's true ... there are so many paintings yet to do.

 Rick, I don't know if there is a painting 'gene', but a strong desire to paint is a great place to start! I an glad you met your artist friend!

Hey, Rick, once you get into that special place that painting takes you, it's like a drug: you have to have more of it!!!
