Happy May, everyone!
Just learning my way around here and finding inspiration all over the place! I love intense color and laying it on thick! Seemed like a good day to jump in.
The size is 24x24. C&C welcome!

Re: What's on your easel, May 2012
thanks! I left out of my post that I love your calf! I go by L.L. on most boards. Guess I could've included that, too!

Re: What's on your easel, May 2012
I think that giraffe will be happy in his (her?) new home.
I'm working on a little rainbow study right now. I think I'm going to post the images in Landscapes, but am using glazing technique with copious glazing media, so I'm posting here while waiting for things to dry.
This little study is the first entry in my first painting journal. I'll post a link to wherever the images end up when it is done.

Re: What's on your easel, May 2012
Anyone else in the printing or design industry familiar with Pantone Matching System? In Alaska we have just come out of the whitest winter to the drab spring so we are craving color. This is the hot new palette for this season. “Flavored by melon, apricot, strawberry, and orange, Melange is an assortment of tantalizing shades guaranteed to stimulate the visual appetite. In addition to the warm fruit flavors, and feeding the need for fresh, vital combinations, there is a toasty tan, a vibrant poppy red and a vivacious yellow, a balancing blue—all well-grounded by a rustic khaki." I thought I’d try a painting with this palette. The “model” is a compilation of images I had to work from.
