Re: Another tattoo study WIP - oil on canvas
Hey, I'm a big fan of yours, this is looking awesome, but I would check her arm, looks a little thick at the elbow?
Question; Do you use an airbrush, or is this all oil paint and brushes?
Phenomenal work!

Re: Another tattoo study WIP - oil on canvas
Hi john thank you for the compliment , i measured the arm and all is good , maybe the cut off point of the painting refects this effect , she is a bodybuilder so has rather large arms .
I don't use an airbrush its all oil by brush , i do build up a lot of layers which give a fairly smooth look , unfortually thats my style , tried painting loose and struggle with the concept as not controlled enough , hope that answers some questions and thanks again

Nicely rendered. I love the rich colours in the hair and how they are repeated in the cat's ears. Also love that cat!

Wow, gorgeous face! And, is that Betty?
One nit. Can't get past the arm from elbow (to wrist?) It does seem that the elbow is just too thick but no problem on her upper arm. As the elbow was most likely closer to the lens of the camera, perhaps it gives the impression of being larger.

Re: Another tattoo study WIP - oil on canvas
I think the issue with the elbow is being caused by where it's cut off. We can't see any of the shadows rounding out the underside, so to us, it appears flat as if it keeps going off the picture plane. Maybe some work on rounding out the lower and upper arm as it joins with the elbow, and some shadow between the inner elbow and the body, and the lower arm and cat?

I like it although I think you might have some distortion caused by a short lense on the camera. that might be why so many are thrown off by the elbow.

Re: Another tattoo study WIP - oil on canvas
Thanyou guys , i have taken the arm in slightly , your right , i think being nearer the camera it has distorted it , the crop doesn't help , may take it back further yet,
Dana ta , no its not my cat it was the models
bit of progress
