I worked at a zoo this past summer so I had lots of opportunities to shoot the animals. Although, especially with the big cats, I had an unfair advantage of being able to jingle my keys or call their name to get them to wake up and look at me.
E.T. apparently was better at ignoring me and kept on sleeping.
