Re: Quick Dry Cafe, April 2012
Was just about to open a new thread and saw you'd got ther before me Howard!
All looking forward to Easter? Hope it's happy for you all
Being typically British, the glorious unseasonal summer March weather has changed - just in time for Easter ........... yesterday was bitterly cold and we have the white stuff forecast to reach us by Wed. Ugh. ....... back to sweaters and bundling up! ......... and Patti - you'd need your boots here!
Raymo - just read about Merwen - Charlie would always lick the floor tiles around the cooker/hob area - especially after frying anything. I guess Merwen liked the taste and smell, so wanted it on his scent glands too .... or maybe he thinks he's a dog sometimes? - Dogs love to roll their cheeks/neck/shoulders in smelly stuff!!!!!!!!!!! (Not that you'd call Teena's kitchen smelly!!!!! Heaven forbid! )
I'll look for some of the Galbandan books at our Library - we have a mobile Library van comes to the village and he'll get me books if they're not already on the van ....... good service!
Howard, did you bake that bread plait? Looked delicious ............ which brins us to lunch, time to go make some!
Happy and peaceful Sunday to you all.

Re: Quick Dry Cafe, April 2012
Yes, I made and baked the bread. It is a Greek Easter Bread and I wanted to make it before making a loaf as a gift for a dinner host next week.Wanted to be sure it would taste good and look good.
Found these while doing a bit of clean up today. They belonged to my Grandfather when he was a kid so have to be at least 100 years old now. In surprising good shape all things considered.

Re: Quick Dry Cafe, April 2012
Oh my GAWD!!!
I talked Mark into taking me BACK to Michaels today abd I bought a bunch of colored pencils,, holy smokes! spent over a hundred bucks,, and she gave me a 50% off of the pack of 36 pencils saving me over 32 bucks!!
I thought,, gee,, painting is not really going to happen on these trips with the wind and DOGS,, so, I though,, colored pencils are much more portable, so why not???? I hope I didnt waste my money.. will see

Well it's Palm Sunday, April Fools Day, and my Anniversary. who gets married on April Fools Day to Rip VanWinkle..I do, almost 50 years ago so guess no foolin' there..haha
Hi Howard..Happy Spring to you too. We're entering April well here, pouring down rain. Love the new garden beauties.
Saw the bread, closed my eyes and I could smell it, ahhh that is such good bread I remember from a Greek neighbor lady, always made my parents a loaf. Awesome treasure those marbles..
And Hi Purplefire1...I think I am jealous..no foolin'...LOL
Mary cutie how could you pass up a bargain like that, I couldn't. Good thinking girlfriend, cp's are the artist's best travelin' companion..enjoy them. Guess we'll be seeing you in Colored Pencils forum hmmmmm maybe.
Happy Fools Day to my favorite fool of all..hahaha Raymo my man of course.
Licking the floor, must just be another bad habit Merwyn has picked up from you... that's for the wear your bicycle helmet poke weirdo..haha
Maureen sorry you're weather may be taking a nose dive, let's hope the snow was just a bad joke...they forecasted it for here but ended up rain, is awful cold tho..yuk.
Hi Kathie no pranks here either..haha Happy Painting!!
Big hello to everyone else too, just passing through, coming out of feeling like road kill..haha just wanted to say hi. Here's hoping for some of us Mother Nature will stop with the practical jokes and get down to some serious garden weather. Otherwise I'm just going to have to visit Patti and Howard and do a little garden replanting...from their house to mine.
Have a great rest of your night see ya all later,
Hugs all round,
Elaine
OOPs...Nite Nite Raymo my man...

Re: Quick Dry Cafe, April 2012
Glad to see you are on the mend Elaine.
Thinking about building a structure for my computer parts, bits and pieces. I am getting so I really dislike all the cables and cords. I am in need of some order and organization. Behind the scenes it can be the drama of a lifetime but up front I want it to be somewhat orderly.
Found some new speakers for the computer. I spend some time watching movies and the sound quality of the computer speakers is at best dreadful.

Re: Quick Dry Cafe, April 2012
Elaine - so sorry to miss yesterday - better late than never though
Hope you got to go out for dinner and wine Hope you're also truly on the mend.
Hi Numerous Cafe-ites
Cold, heavy dark clouds, threatening rain and then ........... WHITE STUFF TONIGHT!!!!! Ugh.
Furniture from sunroom gone off for re-upholstering and we've just been out to order carpeting - now we 're waiting for the decorator to say when he's coming. This still feels new to me - so used to doing it all myself but I know now it would take me ten times as long to do it! - now I get to take it easier!!
Mary - hope you like the CPs - they are much easier to use when travelling and your work will be equally as good!
Watched some lambing on TV yesterday and thinking of Anne's lambs already here or about to be here. Hoping the Irish farms haven't been affected by the horrible virus which midges have brought over to the south of England - dead or mal-formed lambs in a lot of farms and no-one knows until they're born. So sad.
Ruthie - forgot to mention - my new comp is an all in one too - lovely big screen/split screen too - great - very useful!
Howard - you obviously don't have enough to do!!!!!!!!!! Studio re-arranging, making panels, building tables/shelves/cupboards, painting pictures, making bread, cooking ............ now building a housing for all the iwres ....... all designed to keep you away from your paperwork I think!
