A Watercolor Pencil Project

Hi everyone
Earlier in the day there was a cardinal outside my window in the tree and it inspired me to draw kind of a close up of the scene.
I made it using watercolor pencils. I'm trying to improve as much as possible.
Sorry the image is a little blurry.

I also posted this in the watercolor channel, I'm not sure which channel it fits in best.

Perhaps, if you scanned it or used a tripod we might be able to see the painting more clearly. And thus, will have the better ability to comment and critique it.

Its great that you have done this from life, thats not an easy thing to do. Even though your image is blurry I can see that your colours and composition are very good.

Re: A Watercolor Pencil Project

We love works that use WC pencils here, so this fits just fine.
We're also a curious bunch-- what kind of paper and pencils did you use?

Looking forward to getting to know you and your work!

Re: A Watercolor Pencil Project

Welcome Lainie to our own little corner of heaven .
It is a shame your image is blurred but from what I can make out it looks really great . I love that your not afraid to use colour -I can see it in the leaves not just the cardinal.
I also second what Marie wrote -it is a special kind of difficult to work with a live subject so way to go you for doing it .

I hope we get to see lots of your work over time, if you need any tips you can ask but there is also a fantastic CP library absolutely bursting with helpful and interesting stuff .
