Barbara: Nice sketeches ... the color is great... love the character....

Jo: Thanks.... yes the chamomile tea makes me sleepy but then most things do at this point ... In the evening I will drink Sweet Dreams.... Great sketches.. super self portrait! Like the holder for the glasses.. my wife keeps loosing her sun glasses and I told her that I would staple them to her head if she keeps loosing them... She is not that fond of that idea so maybe I can get her something like you have....

Mariam: nice coffee sketch.... Looks like folgers? popular brand here

Eyepaint: Very nice self portrait.... I need to keep practicing.. you are very consistant.. nice

Jeannie: Nice necklace.... It is great to keep the memories close... good on you!

3 more sketches with 3 left to go.... hopefully tomorrow morning I can finish up but I need to practice my spelling for the rest of the day

21) Sexy --- My Mercedes Benz Logo --- wouldnt have been too bad but misspelled Mercedes --- what can you do

22) Dark --- Chocolate, hershey kiss --- and misspelled that too
23) Tall --- stack of poker chips !!!!

Thought you might like to see the scanned "Coffee Bean" bean bag. I wish I had been clever enough to create this cute item. Thank you for your feedback.

Re: Scavenger Hunt#266 April 27th-May5th 2012

Hello! I have been long absent from this forum but thought I'd pop in today. I just finished two stressful paintings and needed some quick sketching relaxation. I haven't sketched anything from life in ages, and boy am I rusty!

I love this list Irwin! The sets of three made me want to keep going and going. It about killed me to stop after #10 without doing the last two of the set. Hopefully I will get to finish up more later. Please excuse the bad quality photos. I'm rusty at photographing pencil sketches too!

#1 Good - Cocoa, chocolate is good 99% of the time.
#2 Bad - A container of spoiled and moldy something or other from the back of the fridge. Ew.

#3 Ugly - Any electricians might wish to look away... the wiring tangle in the corner of my little house. My sister was brave enough to wire this place, but it wasn't always pretty. I'm scared to do anything with this now!
#4 Wine - at least it was at some point. Thought I'd have to skip this item, but found this hanging around in an outbuilding. I'm always surprised at what's hiding around here.

#5 Woman - a statuette

#6 Song - My dog "Ain't Too Proud to Beg"
#7 Sexy - Too bad I can't sketch sound. Someone with a sense of humor made this toy. She has the voice of a phone sex operator. When you squeeze her she says, "I'm Leanna Lynx. Mraawwr."

#8 Drugs - Pill box
#9 Rock and Roll - record and turntable
#10 Bacon - As a vegetarian, I really had to think for this one. These are some rolled up (to make them more interesting to sketch) paycheck stubs - proof of "bringing home the bacon."

Re: Scavenger Hunt#266 April 27th-May5th 2012

There are so many awesome sketches in this hunt. I am going to mention just a few favorites.

Irwin - Again, love the list. You really captured the shine and transparency of the coffee carafe and record player cover. I always admire that in pencil sketches!

Jeanne -
Haha, great choice for bacon! Your donkey certainly is handsome, sketch and real life version. I wish we could see the rest of the nativity set. I recognized your eyes in the self portrait right off.

Paul -
Your set of good, bad, and ugly really had me laughing. Great Elvis! Very recognizable.

Eyepaint - Super self-portraits! I do like the second one better.

Joan - Your watercolor sketches made me wish I'd taken the time to get my paints out. I love your attention to detail. The gravel texture on the tall trees sketch and the reflections on the sexy store window especially.

Jo - Great self-portrait! The glasses sit so well on your face. The dark shadows under the pine trees look so nice and cool.

Marriam - Gorgeous, shiny red tomatoes!

Ai - Fantastic woman and children! Your wine bottle is beautiful.

Kivrin65 - Such cool speakers with excellent dark tones!

Tresgatos - Your tea strainer and tea are incredible! Such a cute bean bag. I feel sorry for him being squashed in the scanner though.

Re: Scavenger Hunt#266 April 27th-May5th 2012

Irwin, thanks so much for the Hunt. See all y'all on the next one here:

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show....php?t=1107122

The last sketches here were fun.

Joan, loved the sexy.

Paul, yours, too. And the wine.

"J", cool necklace and memories.

EP, I liked the sp with the hat, too. Great sketching.

marriam, I like the ellipses in your coffee sketches.

Irwin, great book and well done on the sketch. I like your hatching.

Danae, Oh, happy to see you. We are going to Alaska in July!! I am so pumped up to go. We fly to Anchorage then a tour with boat, train, bus and plane via Denali to Artic Circle and back from Fairbanks.

We went to the First Friday Art Walk here in town tonight. Not a huge crowd but more than usual. They have started getting other businesses to stay open and sponsor an artist like they do in Canada. It was nice.

See ya on #267.

My last post for this hunt - this is my attempt at a self portrait - it sort of looks like me - used a scarf instead of a hat

3 - Me - (sort of)
