Crayola Crayon Drawing

Here is a drawing I did with Crayola crayon:

It is 9"x12" on smooth paper. It was really fun to do and I plan to do more crayon drawings in the future.

I got the reference picture from this gallery: http://senju-hime.deviantart.com/

Re: Crayola Crayon Drawing

Very striking! I love the way you captured her makeup and her expression as well as her anatomy and features so well. Gorgeous drawing. You've definitely made this medium sing.

It's such a kick to be able to go back to Crayola crayons and make them work for a gorgeous adult drawing. I can remember how I hated them as a little kid. I couldn't get fine details with them or opaque passages. I didn't get good at crayon drawings till I was grown.

You should submit it to the Crayola website....maybe they will use it in advertising???

Re: Crayola Crayon Drawing

Thank you so much everyone! Working with the crayons got easier as I went, I used them like how I would use colored pencils. I didn't think about submitting it to Crayola, that's a great idea! However, I would have to draw something new because I had permission to draw, but I don't own the reference picture I used.
