Shutterbug Daily, Thursday, April 26, 2012

I had a nice trip to the zoo. It turned out that it was Seniors Day and the zoo was packed with people. That was good because I decided to take photos of the visitors as well as the residents. I thought I would show you some photos of the visitors and I'll share photos of the residents (animals) after I go through some of them.

Seniors got in free and there were many of them. The zoo even provided free rides. I had no idea the zoo even had vehicles like this.

But there was young and old that decided to go to the zoo yesterday because it was such a beautiful day.

And I know that I said that I never post photos of the faces of people but this is one that I could not resist. This lovely lady was sitting in the butterfly house gazing at the amazing creatures that floated all around us. The butterfly house is my favorite spot at the zoo and from the look on her face, probably hers to. She took time out to talk to people, it appeared she knew a lot of people there. The expression on her face softened my heart and I don't she would mind if I shared it with you.

I am glad you had a reasonable day. We have wet conditions for a while now. Would you be a kind soul - and tell me - if my illustrations came out well enough for my Diagonal Lines Grid thread. My thanks for any suggestions.

That is a beautiful photo of the lady. Her expression is priceless. Love the people exhibits in your zoo.
Boy you guys all put some great photos up yesterday. I love zoos. I visit them wherever we go. I think I'm going to run down to St Louis, and spend the weekend at the zoo there this summer.
We have a little train that drives around our zoo. The lion Aslan, (that's how small our zoo is, I know the animals' names) he gets mad at it and he roars like crazy when he hears the whistle.

The photo of the gentle woman struck me. Excellent composition. Just the sort of person who I would love to paint if (or when) I ever learn how to paint portraits.

Thanx for taking that photo

life is good

I agree 100% - that last photo of the lady in the wide-brimmed hat is excellent.

I'm glad you took shots of the people, and am looking forward to seeing your photos of the animals.

I'm struck by the lady in the hat also. Her expression is so peaceful as if everything in her world is just right.

Here is a couple I snapped yesterday. Not much sun here yesterday or today.

Looked like a great day to visit the zoo. Thanks for sharing your pics, can't wait to see some animal ones. I love the one of the little girl. I vividly recall standing at one of those just like her when I was little, and just like her I was way too short to look through.

Sunshine has been scarce here this week. Below are a few shots from my local stomping grounds in recent weeks.

Re: Shutterbug Daily, Thursday, April 26, 2012

I see the Shutterbug Daily has attracted a few new members...welcome to all of you... or you-all if 'you're from here'

I am enjoying all the pix.

Do NOT get a peacock! They are mean and dirty and very noisy and multiply rapidly. and hard to dispose of. best to admire someone else's birds.

BTW- no need to re-copy all the photos to reply, you can just go to the quick reply and comment. It is an option that a moderator or someone far wiser than I can help you with.

Any info you want to share with us about the photos is always welcome, but not required... as a matter of fact, I don't think we have any but the minimal common sense rules here, and we like it that way

life is good
